Finding a good supplier when you’re trying to get some parts for your JDM Honda can be a tricky thing to do. This article will go over several important things you need to consider when purchasing parts for your Honda and provide examples of reputable suppliers.

First of all let’s talk about second hand or pre owned Honda parts. Thankfully Honda is one of the most reliable car manufacturers in the world. For example did you know that Honda have NEVER had a single VTEC engine returned to the factory due to defects? Not one. Ever. So it’s safe to say that Honda build quality parts –and recycling them by buying second hand is a great way to get a good deal on parts.

However you need to remember that there are many parts that should not be purchased second hand. These come in two categories. The first lot of Honda parts you should not buy second hand are parts that need a lot of time to install. Think about things like engine internals, if you are going to pay a mechanic to fit them – you might as well get new items just for peace of mind. You don’t want to find out 6 months down the line that your civic has stopped working because you saved $40 on your injectors by buying second hand!

The second type of parts you should not buy second hand is parts that are notoriously perishable or safety critical. So things like CV boots, radiator hosing, belts, gaskets – you get the idea. Generally these things are not expensive to buy new, and second hand is not the way to go. A huge one for this is exhaust systems and mufflers – they are probably the only parts that Honda makes that are terrible for durability. NEVER get them second hand, I have personally done this many times and had a huge amount of hassle getting them replaced and repaired again. The same with the safety critical parts – don’t bother getting second hand brake callipers, fuel pumps, steering racks etc. It’s just not worth the risk – unless they are reconditioned by a reputable company, these second hand parts are just too dangerous to risk.

So if you need to get a new item there are several good suppliers you can find. As with everything online is without the best place to find cheap jdm Honda parts. A great supplier that carries a huge amount of JDM parts is the auto parts warehouse. They offer free shipping on allot of items, and deliver nationwide. They come with all kinds of guarantees and their customer support is brilliant. I really can’t recommend them enough. Check them out here

There are other suppliers that are good too – but none that I am comfortable with recommending here, in my opinion it’s not worth going anywhere else than auto parts warehouse for your jdm Honda parts.

So you’re looking for a JDM Logo Huh?

The JDM craze has created many fashionable modifications for any JDM Car. JDM Decals have become a hugely popular craze – you can see some examples in our article on JDM Stickers. However there are some designs that have almost become JDM Logos, due to their huge popularity and commonality. This article will outline some of the JDM decals that have become candidates for the title of JDM Logo.

I heart JDM has become a huge contender for the JDM logo crown. It’s been overused to death, but is still a very popular addition to many JDM cars. The different variations that are constantly being made of the I heart JDM decal have added a level of freshness to it. But either way – it’s been used enough the be the contender for the king of JDM logos.

The shocker is another overused and much loved sticker, nothing particularly JDM about it – but it has been adopted time and time again by JDM cars enthusiasts. Its meaning should be obvious.. If not again check out the JDM Stickers article.

The wakaba JDM decal is one of the strongest contenders to the title of a JDM logo. It’s the only sticker on this list that is actually JDM. Starting its life a decal from Japan that is used to signal that the driver of the vehicle is a leaner driver. (Similar to l plates) it has been transformed into a JDM logo. Again overused and much loved this holds everything that is needed to be the definitive JDM logo

Eat sleep JDM – again another JDM logo that has been over used – the list keeps on growing. Can you see a trend yet!?

Mugen / nismo / TRD etc – these are all tuning companies of the relevant manufactures (mugen for Honda, nismo for Nissan, TRD (or Toyota racing development) for Toyota). These are some of the most hated cliché stickers and decals that can be put on a JDM car. 99% of the cars out there that have some of these tuning companies JDM logos on have 0% performance equipment purchased from them. It’s for this reason that I’m not going to include any of these in the list of contenders for king of JDM logos. I don’t mind many over used clichés, I personally love the shocker. But using these tuning companies logo’s on a car that has NOTHING to do with them = RETARD. Harsh but true (offended? – take them off)

(Rant over)

google_ad_client = "ca-pub-0352637538948260";
/* JDMinText */
google_ad_slot = "1366631300";
google_ad_width = 336;
google_ad_height = 280;
//-->

Domokun – a popular JDM sticker that while not as popular as the others in this list –it’s still everywhere. Domokun is the official mascot of Japans NHK television network. As you can see it’s a awesome looking logo which is why it’s so popular. Out of all of these on the list – this is my favourite. But that’s got nothing to do with choosing a JDM logo

The crowning of the JDM Logo

Last place – F*cking mugen stickers

I heart JDM, is just too old for me to able to crown it the logo.

Eat sleep JDM is only a little bit better

The shocker comes in at 3rd place because it’s so damn funny to people who don’t know what it is when they find out.

Domokun comes in second, its more JDM than any of the others on this list. Except….

Wakaba is now the official JDM logo (because I say so) lol. It’s the only JDM logo candidate that is actually Japanese and is related to cars.

So there we have it – wakaba decal = JDM logo. Done.

The JDM EG6

The JDM eg6, is one of the most legendary cars that have been put into production for the JDM community. Its understated and underestimated performance has proven to be a highly attractive prospect to people looking for a hot hatchback.

The EG6 is a Honda civic made in the mid 90’s and was way ahead of its time. Prized and loved by many JDM Cars enthusiasts, it’s a car that has a huge fan base. Check out this video below to see why!

There are several types of eg6 civic. However these can fall into two categories. A EG6 JDM spec, and a non JDM EG6. Visually these are identical (except your JDM EG6 might have some awesome JDM stickers and accessories with it). However the difference lies in the engine, the JDM B16 engine comes with slightly more HP than the other models (trust them to keep all the cool stuff in Japan!). While the performance is only a slight increase, the JDM EG6 costs allot more than the exported models, purely because they are so rare and are now collector’s items.

The EG6 JDM Style

The EG6 styling was way ahead of its time. Despite being designed in the 90’s it still fits in and looks modern in today world. The EG6 JDM and other EG’s have a few subtle styling differences. For example the spoiler was slightly bigger, ride was slightly lower, and came with super hot front and back splitters on the fenders. These alone cost a fortune for good condition originals.

If you can get your hands on a good condition EG6 id personally recommend going for it. The b16 engines are practically bulletproof, and can go well for 150k miles if properly maintained. Trust Honda to make a engine this good – did you know that Honda in all of its time making cars has NEVER has a VTEC engine returned to them for a manufacturing fault? Not one. Ever. Crazy huh.

Imagine driving your civic eg6 JDM spec beast down the road blasting past anyone that decides you’re only in a Honda… and the looks on their faces when you blast past them! Check out these images of some prime examples of a JDM EG6.

If your computer is still functioning after you drooling all over the keyboard from those pictures, I’m glad you’re still with us… as you can see they are one of the most attractive cars from the 90’s. How many other cars can boast to have that level of design from that era? Not many that’s for sure!

But remember this . When you’re driving a JDM Honda eg6 you have to treat it with respect, it’s a rare car these days to have in good condition. A classic, don’t be a tool and crash it racing some euro trash car, make sure the races are worth your while

A Honda eg6 JDM OEM good condition car is one of the best hot hatches available today – not bad for car made in the mid 90’s. Don’t be fooled by imitations and make sure your next car is a Honda civic eg6 JDM spec monster.

JDM Honda Civic

Many new members of the JDM car community come looking for one particular car. The JDM Honda Civic. The exposure that the Honda civic has given the JDM community is immense, the first time someone hears about JDM it’s usually because of a JDM Honda civic, or a JDM Honda civic type r. All of these are perfect JDM cars for young drivers

This article is a brief outline of some of the popular Honda Civic JDM cars, and a brief history of them. In fact this is just part one, we will be adding part two soon.

So why is the JDM Honda civic so popular?

Simple, the Honda civic has everything you could want from a JDM car. It’s a cheap to buy, cheap to run, Honda civic parts are easy to find, the JDM Honda civic type r allows race spec upgrades for lower models.. And this is just the start!

My first car was a JDM Honda civic, and I loved it – an eg4 (1.5 SOHC), and was brilliant. Cheap insurance, faster than most things my friends had at the time (we were all 17) and was the most reliable thing ever. My friends were replacing their clutches every other day with their euro cars, while my JDM Honda civic kept on going and going. (This meant while they were paying to repair their cars, I was paying to upgrade mine…)

The EF – The first JDM Honda Civic

Ok that’s a lie; the EF was not the first JDM Honda civic. But for the purposes of this article it will be – I’m not giving a Honda civic history class here. Just a taster!

The ef was a beast. It came in various varieties, one especially popular had the d16z6 engine, a dohc non VTEC with a hella huge amount of torque. In a car that weighed less than a pencil. It was a lethal combination, the styling and reliability was unheard of at the time of production. Leaving JDM Honda civic EF to be a huge success.

Obviously the EF Civic was then noticed by the JDM cars community in later years, and now you can see several STUNNING examples of EF’s with insane set ups, dominating the street and the race track.

The EG – The Next JDM Honda Civic

The EG holds a special place in my heart. I am in love with this car. Although the there was no JDM Honda civic type R available it didn’t matter. The JDM EG6 (DOHC VTEC) was an absolute monster, and original good condition ones are rare as rocking horse shit these days.

The EG again is hugely popular with the JDM cars community. The modification available for the EG6 was immense. This was due to Honda making the genius decision to make the chassis for the EG civic and the Honda Integra nearly identical. At the time the Integra was Hondas flagship race car. Meaning true full professional race spec modifications were available, not the crap you would get on the high street – genuine race pedigree upgrades. And with the chassis being almost identical. Your JDM Honda civic could be a hybrid JDM Honda civic type R (Integra) cross breed monster.

Even the engine out of the Integra dropped in with ease. Meaning that JDM Honda civics had the potential to be (and commonly are) the fastest hatchbacks on the road.

So this was a very brief introduction into the world of JDM Honda civics. There are many more that we will discuss in future articles, the EK, The EP, and beyond. Stay tuned for updates!

So what are you waiting for, go get yourself an EG JDM Honda Civic!

One of the most distinguishable aspects of a jdm car, is the jdm sticker. Jdm stickers have become a fashionable and cheap way of personalising and modifying your car to give it that JDM look. This article will look over some of the more popular jdm car stickers, and some of the unique and funny jdm stickers. Many of these are candidates for a JDM Logo they are that common.

The Wakaba JDM sticker

As briefly covered in our article cliches on jdm cars. The wakaba sticker is a popular and well known jdm sticker. Its original purpose is similar to learner plates in the US or the UK. Except its a awesome looking sticker!

Now these stickers can be seen as a cliché as they have been used and seen so many times. But here are jdmcars.org we don’t judge – and we understand the appeal that such a strange and cool looking jdm sticker can have on new enthusiasts. So if your looking for one of the classic jdm stickers for cars – this one should be on the top of your list.

The Eat Sleep JDM Sticker

The eat sleep jdm sticker can come in a variety of designs, and is another of the classic jdm stickers. Its origin is unknown, but again is a very popular choice amount enthusiasts. The two main varietys consist of the original three square sticker, and then a newer text based version.

As you can see both versions of the sticker have a excellent appearance and can allow you to change up your jdm sticker stack. So for example if you only had text based stickers, you could add the square symbol based sticker to mix it up a bit – and visa versa, you get the idea…

The Shocker Sticker

The shocker jdm sticker is one of the most popular and controversial stickers available. Not everyone will understand what it means. The ones that do may laugh, the ones that don’t may get a little offended. Either way its a sticker that will attract attention and is one of the most common jdm stickers for cars.

If your not too sure on what it means – take a look at the picture below.

(queue David Attenborough voice)

“The shocker is a “sexual” move preformed on a human female. The performer of the shocker inserts the index and ring finger into the females vagina in the aim of providing pleasure. The Shocker gets its name from the actions of the little finger. Which is inserted, with suprise, into the females anus. Resulting in a shock, and usually a slap” Lol – you get the idea

F*ck JDM Sticker

The fuck JDM sticker was created when the JDM cars craze was becoming popular. Many older members of the community were becoming annoyed that they were not the only ones modifying JDM cars, because they wanted to be special little unique mommies angel fan boys. This lead them to create the fuck jdm sticker.

Ironically the fuck jdm sticker has now become a well known and widely used sticker in the community, much to the old crowds annoyance. I love it, but i love clichés - fuck the old guys, get the fuck jdm sticker!

I Heart JDM Sticker

The i heart jdm sticker was another original sticker back in the day. Not particularly original, copying the idea from “i heart NY” or “I heart (Insert any random place here”.

The sticker however evolved and has had several iterations, as you can see from the images below.

So That’s All Your JDM Stickers For Now Folks!

So there is a brief introduction into jdm stickers, ranging from the standard jdm stickers for cars, to the funny jdm stickers. When i can get some more time i will write a article on some of the rarer jdm stickers that could give your car that little visual edge. So what are you waiting for – go get some jdm stickers!

Welcome To JDM Cars

We are the best online resource for all things you need to know about JDM cars and we pride ourselves on it. JDM cars are literately our life, we know them inside and out and are passionate enthusiasts about all things JDM.

We have been interested and researching, reading about, modifying, and racing our JDM cars for over 10 years now, so we like to think we know a thing or two. On our site you will find all manner of resources regarding JDM cars and introductions into various defining topics of the area.

These topics will be both broad and specific – so expect updates on topics as broad as manufacturer overviews, to topics specific as the correct camber for your s13 drift beast!

Expect guides on how to swap your standard Silvia lump to a RB skyline engine, and how to get the maximum power from your turbo – to the simple fitting of headlights and air filters. We will cover it all!

JDM Cars.. Trailer Queens?

We don’t just focus on the performance of JDM cars (although we do LOVE our insane speed), we are dedicated to the JDM styling aspects too. We know a lot of people bash “trailer queens” and insist that JDM cars need to be primarily function over fashion. We don’t feel this is the case.

Everyone (except the hardcore JDM performance enthusiasts) has a special place in their hearts for the appearance and styling of JDM cars. So why not just make something that looks sexy, without the risk of trashing your pride and joy on the track?

Anyway we discuss function over fashion elsewhere on the site but we also cover all aspects of styling your JDM cars… From generic and controversial topics such as the (possibly overused) wakaba JDM stickers, to the best lips for your EG JDM Honda civic.

One thing we would like to point out is that we are in no way biased towards any particular manufacturer or tuning company. We love JDM and everything about it, where our opinions are given they are totally unbiased. In fact we own a car from pretty much every Japanese manufacturer as they all have their benefits and strong points. So rest assured – we speak our minds when it comes to JDM cars.

Are You A Noob To JDM Cars?

So if your new to JDM cars and have just heard about them, perhaps a little introduction to what JDM cars are all about is in order. We have a excellent What Is JDM article which will teach you all the basics you need to know. Its a great starting point – until you know the basics you will find yourself way over your head.

For those of you who are more experienced and knowledgeable about JDM cars that may be a little too basic and introductory (although a good read). Our highly recommended article on Cliches on JDM cars has attracted much acclaim from within the community and is well worth a read.

So thanks for joining us here at JDM cars we think you will get all you need and more here. And remember. Go Hard Or Go Home -JDM cars

Clichés And Overused Modifications In JDM Cars

The recent popularity of JDM cars has exploded. More people than ever before are become passionate modifiers of JDM cars. However a few defining modifications have become in the spotlight, and are now regarded by some as clichés. Whether or not you care about this is up to you. But in this page we will discuss some of the more common clichés and examples of them so you can avoid them if you wish

The Wakaba Sticker On JDM Cars

This was once a original and unique way of displaying you were an enthusiast of JDM cars while also adding a stylish sticker to your vehicle. Nowadays it has become overused in the eyes of some and is a symbol of a cliché JDM car.

The wakaba sticker is without doubt the most common “cliché” for JDM cars enthusiasts. Its original purpose is similar to P plates in the UK or US. Its essentially a sticker that denotes a driver has recently passed their test and is a new driver.

A Wakaba Sticker

There is a another version of the wakaba sticker – slightly less used, but still a common cliché – the koreisha mark.. This is the equivalent of learner plates in the US or the UK – but for Japan (as of 2011 this is no longer used in Japan).

A Old Koreisha Mark

The newer koreisha mark (probably due to being new) is less common than the other two stickers, but will probably also become over used with time.

A New Koreisha Mark

Towing Hooks On JDM Cars

Towing hooks are added to many JDM cars and usually have little to no function on them. Their intended use is obvious – for a car to be towed into position on a race track, or to be towed off a race track. Sure it may come in handy if you break down on your way to work – but is this something you really need on your JDM cars?

A Towing Hook On A JDM Car

As you can see its quite a attractive modification, but can be seen by some as a huge cliché.

Black bonnets On <del>JDM</del> Ricer Cars

Black bonnets are verging on (or almost certainly are) ricer methods of modifying, and are usually not attributed to JDM cars, but i thought it would be worth mentioning in this post as they are becoming more and more common.

Black bonnets are usually used to give the impression of a carbon fibre bonnet. I’m all for the fashionista trailer queen JDM enthusiasts. But this is just rice…. Just save your money and buy a real carbon fibre bonnet.

A Black Bonnet…

The black bonnets look tacky, and may look impressive from afar – but upon closer inspection you will be seen as a douche by all who know anything about JDM cars.

So what’s our opinion on clichés on JDM Cars?

We personally hate them – we have been in the scene for a long time, us old timers are maybe just moaning and that’s totally up to you to decide.

If you don’t care what people think and think the “clichés” look cool and fresh, why not get them!

They are reasonably cheap and striking modifications. Just be wary that you may get some dodgy comments from the more hardcore JDM cars enthusiasts.

Whatever you do – just don’t get a black bonnet, i made that mistake when i was new to car modification and JDM cars – and regretted it ever since… – JDM Cars

JDM Cars – Function Over Fashion

Function over fashion is a widely used phrase in the world of modifying and collecting JDM cars. In this article we provide a insight into what is meant by function over fashion, and our opinion on the matter.

Function over fashion essentially means that a JDM car should be a primarily designed and modified to enhance the performance – with a minimal amount of time and effort devoted to the cars appearance. This train of thought does not meant that all JDM cars should be 100% optimised for performance. This would lead to everyone driving around without passenger seats, dashboards, and spare wheels!

The Function Over Fashion JDM Cars Argument

The function over fashion camp simply think that any modification should have a functional performance enhancing benefit. So if you want to change your fenders, the new ones need to give more down force, want to change your wheels? They better had be lightweight rims. New headlights? Lightweight ones please…. You get the idea.

Some of the zealots of the function over fashion camp are insistent on this and publically slam any JDM cars enthusiast who makes a modification or two that is purely for visual qualities.

MMMM Skyline…..

Which leads us quite nicely onto…

The Fashionistas And Trailer Queens JDM Cars Argument

This side of the debate is pretty straight forward. The people in this camp feel that there is nothing wrong with modifications to enhance the look of the car as long as they are tasteful – if they enhance performance then its a bonus, but its not the main concern.

Many people in this camp simply are not willing to pay huge sums of money for performance when the car is mainly going to be used on the road (And we all obey the speed limits now don’t we…) maybe they are the JDM Cars Young Drivers and don’t have much disposable income…or simply prefer to cruise in style rather than bomb at 100mph down the road!

We personally think there is merit to both sides of the argument. It is perhaps the passion of the function over fashion camp that provides us with the usually high standards of cars that are seen throughout the JDM cars community (especially if you compare the JDM cars community to other car communities).

It gives a huge kick up the backside for people who are thinking about trying to take a rice approach to JDM.

However on the other hand the function over fashion camp can be a VERY vocal group – and for perhaps someone who loves the JDM cars community and the cars, and yet does not have the cash to invest in a 500WHP NA beast it can be very daunting. All to often i see on forums people getting slated over what is obviously their pride and joy, simply because they have put a subtle, JDM yet non functional spoiler on their JDM Cars. “ZOMG ITS NOT A REAL SPOON SPOILER” its a little pathetic when people take it this far in my opinion.

Plus where would be without super hot and sexy trailer queens to drool over!

So there you have it – a little bit on the arguments on both sides of the camp. One thing is for sure – both the function over fashion, and the fashionistas are here to stay in the world of JDM cars – and we think that’s just fine – JDM Cars.

The young drivers guide to JDM cars

Many young drivers a car modification enthusiasts, unfortunately a large amount of these enthusiasts are “Ricers” (not sure what ricers are? Check out An Introduction to JDM cars). I understand the appeal – and am guilty of this myself at a young age – until i saw the light and came over to the JDM cars side!

However due to the nature of JDM cars mainly being function over fashion usually resulting in large engine sizes, or high insurance premium cars it is hard for the young driver to get into the JDM cars scene. This when coupled with the legal requirement for declaring modifications to insurance companies, means a costly experience for some young JDM cars enthusiasts.

However have no fear – there are options for the young driver to get into the world of JDM cars.

There are a select few cars that can be used (and more importantly insured) by the young driver. These cars are cheap to purchase and maintain – and have HUGE performance possibilities…

While there are several other manufacturers available for young driver – this article will focus on the most popular manufacturer for young JDM cars enthusiasts – Hondas.

Young JDM Cars – Hondas

The Honda civic has been around for nearly as long as Honda has – and throughout the years they have refined the design – with each offering the young JDM cars enthusiasts a entry point in to the modification scene.

The Honda civic is one of the most popular from Honda, this is due to many reasons – take the Honda civic EG for example (EG is the chassis code for civics made between 1992-1995). EG civics were WAY ahead of their time in terms of styling and performance.

Standard out of the factory EG6’s (EG6 is the DHOC VTEC EG civic) can still put up one hell of a fight against modern cars of the same spec range on the track today. And the styling of all of the EG civics was so ahead of its time they still do not look dated to this day. Many simple modifications can be done to an EG to make a superb looking JDM car that many could be envious of. This is perfect for the young driver looking to get into the JDM cars world.

However the EG6 is still a relatively expensive car to insure – but there is a workaround perfect for the young JDM cars enthusiast.

Honda in their wisdom – for one reason or another, made MANY (nearly all) performance related parts for the EG series civics IDENTITCAL to the Integra Type R (DC2 Chassis Code).

This opens up a world of opportunity. Young drivers can obtain a cheap 1.3 EG civic, and focus on small modifications to handling and breaking (which occasionally reduces insurance costs) and visual modifications at first… until they get a little older.

In this example – By the time the young JDM cars enthusiast has a beautiful looking civic with enhanced performance spec handling and breaking modifications (and remember the modification parts available are TRUE RACE SPEC parts designed for Hondas flagship racer the Integra at the time)… But you still have that terribly slow 1.3 engine…

This is the true beauty of the EG/DC series compatibility. It is a INCREDIBLY easy job (relatively) to swap a Honda Integra type R engine.

Young Driver Friendly JDM Cars (EG Civic)

e into your civic.

No welding, minimal (or no) wiring modifications, in fact all you need really is a new engine mount, and a shifter…. (google it – it really is quite simple)

Soo what does this mean for your jdm cars

This allows you then to have a super light, high revs, high power, car that easily dominates most things on the road (trust me i have one!) at a reasonably young age.

So as you can see even the young driver can get into JDM cars with ease.

What Is JDM?

So you have heard all about JDM cars and are wondering what all the fuss is about. Well let me give you a prior warning JDM Cars are ADDICITVE! In fact if you finish reading this page and you’re not hooked ill eat my own muffler.

So what are JDM Cars?

JDM is an acronym and stands for Japanese Domestic Market… Great, but what does that mean i hear you cry. Well it literately means “cars that are from Japan, and sold in Japan”.

Now this doesn’t narrow it down much does it!

The description above pretty much covers all cars from all Japanese manufacturers… This is where things get a little more complicated. When talking about car modification JDM cars means something slightly different. Let me explain….

There are two main types of car styling when it comes to Japanese vehicles these are called “Rice” and “JDM”. (See our page on JDM cars for young drivers)

JDM Cars – NOT RICE!

What is JDM.. NOT RICE! Rice is the typical boy racer style of making your car as loud and as visible as possible. Adding things to you car like huge spoilers that belong on aircraft, exhausts with holes in trying to make a 1.3 litre Honda civic sound like a twin turbo Nissan skyline. Under car neon’s so bright you can see the car from space… All without enhancing the performance noticeably at all. See the picture below – you get the idea..

A Ricer, The Enemey of JDM Cars!

As you can see this is a horrible styling option, and essentially paints a huge sign on your car saying “im a looser”. 9/10 JDM cars enthusiasts despise rice and ricers (the owners of rice styled cars).

So TELL ME what IS JDM?!

The reason JDM is used as a term to classify a type of modification is simply because its what the car enthusiasts in Japan do… Despite what you have seen in the fast and furious Tokyo drift, JDM cars are styled totally the opposite to their evil rice cousins.

What is JDM? JDM is a much more subtle and sophisticated styling method, with a large emphasis on keeping the original styling of the car visible.

Cleanliness is a HUGE part of styling JDM CARS. If you think you know how to clean a car well, you need to see how some of the top dogs in the JDM cars world do it. Its another level of clean, hospitals are dirtier than some of the engine bays ive seen.

Dents, rust, chips, scratches – no good repair them! Polish that paint to a mirror shine, get all the brake dust off your rims, take the seats out and carpet clean your interior… You get the idea.

JDM cars are much more attractive when they are hyper clean, in fact its key to the styling of JDM cars. Not a super clean car? Then its going to look a lot like any other standard car… The first step to modifying JDM cars is to CLEAN them! What is JDM? JDM is clean.

Its All About The Clean JDM Cars

Instead of totally different fenders that look like they belong on a space ship that you would find on a ricer, JDM cars fenders will be much like the original but with a slight twist. Subtle, sophisticated.

Many times fenders are not even replaced, simply lips are added to the bottom of them to give a unique and subtle appearance.

Performance is usually the main factor in JDM cars, and if the parts make the car look sexy – then its a bonus! This is why some JDM addicts have pristine engine bays so clean you can eat your dinner off them. Its the visual aspect of the power and performance that looks sexy. And once you learn to love it – there is no going back. You’re hooked

However with all of this power obviously comes higher insurance premiums. Due to their value and performance JDM cars are often targeted by criminals for theft. They can be used to commit a crime and escape, and then be broken down into parts and sold for further profit. Several car insurers make insurance for jdm cars much more expensive than domestic cars. Specialist insurers are hard to come by but we personally use (and highly recommend as they give low prices to JDM car enthusists) bestquotes.com…. If you like the idea of getting a JDM car then the first step should be to see if you can afford the insurance.
